Erasmus+ Traineeship
Information on the Erasmus+ Traineeship program
Erasmus+/traineeship is the European Union’s programme in education, training, youth and sport for 2021-2027. The programme's overall objective is to support, through lifelong learning, the formative, professional and personal development of individuals in education in Europe and worldwide. One of the specific objectives is to promote the mobility of individuals for learning purposes not only within the EU but, as of this year, also outside the EU. Key action 1 of the programme enables students of the I, II and III cycle to undertake training periods in enterprises, training centres, research centres, universities and other organisations.
Short-term mobility ("Short Term") is also envisaged. The Programme provides a financial contribution (grant) to partially cover the expenses incurred by the beneficiary(s) during the mobility period for an internship abroad. The grants will be awarded exclusively for vocational training or apprenticeship (traineeship) activities, recognized as an integral part of the student’s study program by their Institute,
The experience involves the realization of an internship experience abroad of the following types:
A. CURRICULAR INTERNSHIP: Internship for students that provides recognition of training credits (CFU) in valuable careers to achieve the degree;
B. EXTRA-CURRICULAR TRAINEESHIP: traineeship carried out as a new graduate.
The programme provides a financial contribution to cover part of the costs incurred by students abroad during their internship; this experience abroad may last between 2 and 12 months. The Erasmus+ traineeship mobility internship must be carried out continuously for at least 60 full days and may occur between May 2023 and October 2024.
