The BSc in Statistical and Actuarial Sciences, established in 1991 at the University of Benevento, offers a unique educational opportunity in Campania and Southern Italy. Similar programmes are only available at the universities of Rome, "La Sapienza" and Trieste.
This course aims to train graduates with solid knowledge in mathematical and statistical disciplines, and their applications in economics, business, insurance, and finance. The programme is designed to facilitate a swift and effective entry into the job market while also providing a solid foundation for further study, particularly in the Master's programme in Statistical and Actuarial Sciences offered by the Department of Law, Economics, Management and Quantitative Methods at the University of Sannio.
Students acquire knowledge by learning and applying the principles, methods, and models of statistics, actuarial and financial sciences, and related and supplementary disciplines. The course focuses on solving progressively more complex problems and emphasises the historical evolution of foundational ideas, techniques, and practices. The programme employs specific and innovative teaching methods across different disciplines to achieve the expected outcomes.
