Public utility work enters the University of Sannio. On 7 October 2021, an agreement was signed between the Samnite University, the Ordinary Court of Benevento and the External Criminal Enforcement Office of Benevento. This is an agreement that provides two places in the Library of the University of Sannio to allow those sentenced to the penalty of public utility work to perform unpaid activities in favor of the community. The document was signed by the President of the Court of Benevento Marilisa Rinaldi, delegated by the Ministry of Justice, the Director of the External Criminal Enforcement Office of Benevento Marisa Bocchino and the Rector of the University of Sannio Gerardo Canfora.

Educating is one of the main missions of the University. Opening the doors of UniSannio to the condemned not only allows the performance of a public utility service but gives the possibility to come into contact with a community founded on positive values ​​of cultural as well as personal growth. The intent is also to experiment with innovative practices and further bring the University closer to the needs of society, contributing to fair and inclusive growth.
