At Sant'Agostino a museum accessible to everybody

The University of Sannio has been admitted to funding by the MIC (Ministry of Culture) "for the implementation of interventions for the removal of physical, cognitive and sensory barriers of museums and public places of culture".

The project, called S'ADIM (Sant'Agostino Digital Museum), was fifth out of over 700 proposals admitted to funding and even second considering the final ranking of those admitted to funding, divided by central-northern and southern regions.

The contribution of 500 thousand euros will make it possible to transform the Sant'Agostino Building, the current classroom of the Engineering Department of the University of Sannio, into a museum center accessible to all, thanks to the use of technological devices, such as the latest generation VR viewers , a dedicated app and the creation of oleograms/3D reproductions, for an exciting and engaging tour of the complex. The idea is to strengthen the function of the Sant'Agostino Building as a cultural center in the Sannio territory with the redevelopment of the Auditorium, the adjoining cloister and the external spaces to carry out activities and moments of socialization (concerts, theatre, readings, workshops , etc.) also with the possibility of trespassing in nearby spaces (Arch of Trajan, Church of S. Ilario, Complesso Scolopi, etc.). The project also has the support of cultural institutes and associations (FAI, ARCOS, Accademia S. Sofia).
