THE World University Rankings 2022

The University of Sannio participated for the second time in the prestigious Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2022 (THE WUR 2022).

Already last June, UniSannio was in the top 20% among young universities in the world (745, those less than 50 years old from its foundation). Today the comparison is between 1662 universities, small and large, with recent and over a hundred years of history. UniSannio ranks in the overall classic at 40% of the best.

The quality of UniSannio research is reconfirmed. Once again, the Samnite university, specifically with regard to scientific production, is in the 20% of the most cited universities in the world. This result shows how the scientific ideas that arise in the laboratories of the urban campus of Benevento are not ignored by scientists all over the world.

THE Times Higher Education study represents the largest assessment and monitoring activity in the university world. Among the various indicators taken into consideration to draw up the rankings, there are teaching, research, citations in international journals, relations with operators in the reference market, internationalization.

The University of Sannio, therefore, stands out in particular for the "Citations" indicator (scientific influence) which evaluates the role of universities in the dissemination of new knowledge.

Already the 2021 edition of THE Times Higher Education had placed us in a flattering way in the global rankings, today we reconfirm this positioning. The message that we want to record from the results of the recent rankings that see UniSannio present is that our university is growing. As a researcher, I feel particular pride in seeing the reconfirmation of the recognition of scientific production still at the highest levels, a sign of cultural vivacity and constant attention to human resources ”.
