The collaboration between the University of Sannio and the Historical Institute of the Risorgimento continues. On April 27th in Palazzo Paolo V a historical event that took place in the Sannio province in April 1877 will be recalled and analysed, when the unification of Italy had just been completed a few years ago, when the era of the brigands had just ended. About thirty anarchist militants tried to trigger the social revolt and start a socialist republic from the south.
The conference entitled "Anarchists of Matese" will start at 16.30 and will try to analyze that historical moment and those events. The event will be accompanied by an exhibition in which reproductions of newspapers and documents of the time will be exhibited, a 1976 documentary made by Ugo Gregoretti "Nel Sannio e nel Matese con gli Inti-Illimani" produced by RAI one hundred years after the events , the 2021 audio made by Carmine Pinto for RaiPlay and today's production of the students of the ISS Virgilio about 150 years after the events.
