On 2 June 1946, the Italians chose the Republic and on 25 June the Constituent Assembly took office, made up of 556 members, 21 of whom were women: nine Communists, nine Christian Democrats, two Socialists, one from the Front of Any Man. 21 women joined the ranks of the so-called "founding fathers" of the Italian Constitution.
The book by the journalist Eliana Di Caro, "Le Madri della Costituzione" tells of the lives "lived and converged by 21 women who wanted to achieve the freedom and dignity of every human being with equality between citizens and citizens".
The volume will be presented at the University of Sannio on November 15 at 4.30 pm, in collaboration with the Rotary Club - Benevento section, at the Reading Room of Palazzo De Simone in Benevento.
