The University of Sannio, following the rules and principles dictated by its statutes and regulations, It promotes the formation of capital companies whose aim is to exploit on an entrepreneurial basis skills and research results such as, for example, patents, inventions, products, processes and methodologies with innovative content. Hence the possibility of creating spin-offs of research to bring together university and business research on mutual development and networking opportunities; including relations with external actors from the University and specialised in actions to support technology transfer.
The spin-off of research is essentially an innovative company, in the form of a limited company, that is born on the initiative of structures or staff of the University and that bases its business on innovative goods and services conceived and developed by exploiting the results of research activities carried out in the University.
To regulate the procedures and relations between the parties, the University of Sannio has its own rules and a spin-off commission. The regulation makes a distinction between spin-offs directly owned by the University ("Spin-offs"), which are companies in which the University is a shareholder, and Spin-offs authorised but not in the capital of the University ("Authorised Spin-offs"), that is those companies with limited liability or public limited liability in which the University does not acquire any share.
