Eulalia Balestrieri achieved her master degree in Software Engineering in 2003 and her Ph.D. in Software Engineering in 2007 from the University of Sannio in Benevento. Since 2004 she serves at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Sannio. She worked as a teaching support, such as lectures, laboratory exercises and participation to examination, as expert of the subject, as tutor for undergraduates, and supervisor of several dissertations on topics related to research carried out. She was lecturer and tutor of the exercises at the 6th Summer School on "ADC and DAC Metrology" held at the University of Sannio in Benevento, from June 26 to July 7, 2006. Since March 2003 she collaborates with the research activities carried out at the Laboratory of Signal Processing and Measurement Information (LESIM), at the University of Sannio, dealing with methods for metrological characterization of A/D converters and D/A. In July 2005, she conducted research activities at the Department of Microelectronic Engineering, University College of Cork, Ireland. From 2018 to 2021, she joined the Department of Engineering, University of Sannio, as an Assistant Professor in electric and electronic measurement. She became Associate Professor of Electronic Measurement in the same Department in December 2021. She is member of: the IEEE Working Groups TC25 Subcommittee on Objective Blood Pressure Measurement for the development of the new standard IEEE-1721 “Standard for Objective Measurement of Systemic Arterial Blood Pressure in Humans” ; the IEEE TC10 Analog-to-Digital Converter Subcommittee of the Waveform Generation, Measurement and Analysis Committee for the development of the new standards IEEE2414 “Standard for Jitter and Phase Noise “ and IEEE 1658 “IEEE Standard for terminology and test methods for digital-to-analog converters” and the revisions of IEEE 1057 “IEEE Standard for Digitizing Waveform Recorders”, IEEE 1241 “IEEE Standard for terminology an test methods for analog-to-digital converters” and IEEE 181, “IEEE Standard for Transitions, Pulses, and Related Waveforms”; the technical program committee of 2009 and 2013 IEEE International Workshop on Medical Measurement and Applications, 2007 International Workshop on ADC Modelling and Testing, of 2011 International Workshop on ADC Modelling, Testing and Data Converter Analysis and Design and IEEE 2011 ADC Forum. She is reviewer for IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation & Measurement, AIP Review of Scientific Instruments, IEEE Sensors Journal and Measurement. She is member of the Editorial Board of Acta Imeko. She participated to several international and national projects as PON 2000-2006 entitled: “Remote educational laboratory distributed on wide area network”; PRIN 2006 entitled: “Metrological characterization of A/N and compensation of nonlinearities through probabilistic methods”; Project under the programs for the promotion of the internationalization process of the system, international interuniversity collaboration, programming, 2004-2006, entitled: "Metrological characterization of analog-to-digital converters (ADCWAN)"; Project under the programs for the promotion of the internationalization process of the system, international interuniversity collaboration, programming, 2004-2006, entitled: "Italian-Croatian Remote Educational Laboratory Distributed on Wide Area Network"; PRIN 2008 entitled: “ADC and DAC metrology: standardization of figures of merit, error estimation and compensation, measurement uncertainty evaluation“; PON Research and Competitiveness 2007-2013, entitled: “Design and implementation of an innovative guardrail based on a new safety concept with a structural function (passive function) and an active function”.
Her research activities are related to: (i) Methods for characterization and compensation of the analog to digital and digital to analogue converters for the harmonization and updating of international standards in the field; (ii) Remote educational laboratory distributed on wide area network; (iii) Measurement instrumentation for digital telecommunication networks; (iv) Standards for the calibration of automated instrumentation for non-invasive measurement of blood pressure; (v) Design of a prototype portable space cytometer.
She received the Certificate of Appreciation from the IEEE Standards Association “for outstanding contributions to the development of IEEE Standard 1241TM-2010 IEEE Standard for Terminology and Test Methods for Analog-to-Digital Converters”.
