Sabatino CIARCIA is Associate Professor at the University of Sannio, in the Scientific Sector Geo-02 "Stratigraphic and Sedimentological Geology".
He graduated in Geological Sciences in 1990, at the University of Naples "Federico II", where he also obtained the title of PhD in Sedimentary Geology and had the role of Research Fellow.
In his research activity he participated in the CARG Project as Surveyor of the Geological Map of Italy and in PRIN Projects aimed at the study of the kinematic evolution of the orogenic system of the central-southern Apennines and the Moroccan Rif.
He initially carried out teaching activities at the Department of Earth Sciences of the University of Naples "Federico II" and, subsequently, he held teaching positions at the University of Sannio and the University of Molise for the courses of Sedimentary Domains and Tectonic Regimes, Regional Geology, Geological Survey, Geology of the Apennines and Field Geology. In his scientific activity he has presented dozens of communications at national and international conferences and congresses, producing several dozen publications in international journals (http://www.scopus.com/authid/detail.url?authorId=55932713100-https: //orcid.org/0000-0003-3741-6029).
He is president of the Council of the Study Course of the Master's Degree in Natural Sciences (LM60) and the Master's Degree in Geotechnologies for Resources, the Environment and Risks (LM74) from 2022 to 2025. He has been a member of the Order of Geologists since 1991 and of the Council of the Order of Geologists of Campania since 2013. In the year 2020/2021 he was vice president.
